  1. well, what alternative do i have when Firefox freezes with Flash Player 11.3 ???
  2. You are correct. But, bluevelvet said in the first post above: "I have Avast but it is not working and i can,t uninstall it or remove it." Normally, you go to Avast´s settings and turn off the "self-protection" if you want to "kill" Avast, but when it´s not working...? Then you´ll have to go into "Services" as i posted above. I know, because i recently had exactly the same problem myself, trying to remove Avast....
  3. OK OK. No problem, i just wondered... Anyway, have you tried my suggestion above, regarding an older Flash Player-version ?
  4. OA doesn´t know if YOU want to allow those programs or not....
  5. huh, why are you using auch an old FF-version ?
  6. OOOPS ! Sorry, seems i was tired yesterday.... I switched between forumsections, and didn´t notice it was in OA-section.
  7. Try this: Start "Services": left-click on the "startbutton" type "Services" in the run-window select "Services" from the listed programs right-click and select "run as admin" (you can skip this if you are using an ADMIN-account, if so then just left-click) find Avast, click on that service and set it to disabled. then try again to uninstall Avast. Free Antivirus? Emsisoft AntiMalware (EAM) works (of course)... But there no realtime-protection in the free version. MSE should work without any problem together with OA. i´ve used EAM, MSE & Avast (yes, all 3 !) together for years without any problem at all. But i can´t answer about Avast 7, because i´m now using Windows Server 2008-R2 as my primary O/S, and those two Avast 7-versions that i´ve tried created problems on WS2008-R2. Avira have also worked well with OA previously, but i haven´t used Avira for years, so i don´t know about the latest version.
  8. You can run the wizard "manually" if you want. Use Windows explorer or some other file-manager, go to your EAM-folder which normally is located in C:\program files\ (or C:\program files (x86) on a 64-bit system). Then just click on a2wizard.exe... If you want to run it often, then create a shortcut on your desktop. "drag" the a2wizard.exe to the desktop with the right mousebutton, and create a shortcut.
  9. Hi ! A lot of people, including me, have had problems with Firefox 13.01 & Adobe Flash Player 11.3. Uninstall Flash Player, then try an older version, those can be found here: http://helpx.adobe.c...r-versions.html I´m using 11.2 now. It´s 11.2.202.235, and that version works on Firefox 13.01 & 14.01.
  10. ??? What have i said ? Probably, there are many problems with compatibility on 64-bit O/S-versions.....
  11. Yes. But it´s not easy to find... http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html A minor correction: i made a "typo" above, i´m using 11.2 now. It´s 11.2.202.235, and that version works on Firefox 13.01.
  12. All those "Allow or block ?"-questions when installing fx. Office 2010 is an "old" problem... But there is an easy fix for that, turn off OA´s Program shield before you run the installer, then turn Program shield on again when the installation has finished.
  13. Good to hear that it works now. After people reported those 11.3-problems Adobe released a "fix", a new upgraded 11.3-version that didn´t "fix" anything. So i went back to the old 10.2-version. Have you also created "Mutual exclusions" now ? If not, then i recommend that you do it.
  14. if you want to check if a webbsite is safe then you can use fx. Web Of Trust (WOT): http://www.mywot.com/ there is also a WOT add-on for Firefox: https://addons.mozil...ternal-homepage
  15. DrBB01: are you using "Mutual exclusions", have you told both Avast & OA to ignore each other ? if you haven´t, then you might have problems with Avast´s Behavior Shield. if i remember correctly, i had some problems myself until i created "mutual exclusions".
  16. a lot of people, including me, have had problems with Firefox 13.01 & Adobe Flash Player 11.3. have you tried without Avast running ?
  17. are you using EAM-FREE or full (PAID) version ?
  18. open a command-prompt (cmd.exe) enter the name of the setup-file and add /DIR=, followed by the path to the directory where you want to install it. fx. EmsisoftAntiMalware6Setup.exe /DIR="H:\Programs\EAM" tip: first rename the file to fx. EAM.exe, then open a command-prompt, that will save a lot of typing....
  19. I noticed that since you listed windows firewall under "HIPS"... HIPS=Host Intrusion Prevention System. google "HIPS". Then you can find some good info that explains it. No. I said that windows firewall doesn´t have any HIPS.... And that´s why it´s a good idea to use another program, fx. Online Armor (OA) in combination with windows firewall, because OA has HIPS. OA´s Program Guard=HIPS And if you do so, then turn off OA´s firewall and just use the Program shield, because you should not use 2 firewalls. Are you with me now ? I meant windows firewall, have you setup any rules for the firewall ?
  20. I see that you list "microsoft firewall" under HIPS. Actually, windows firewall doesnt offer any HIPS, that´s why it´s a good idea to use another, program, fx. Online Armor (OA) in combination with windows firewall, and then turn off OA´s firewall and just use the Program shield. But which settings are you using for windows firewall ? Are all outgoing connections allowed or have you setup any "rules" for outgoing and incoming connections ?
  21. ? first post in the thread: "Since a few days I have a curious situation with OA on my 64bit Win7:".....
  22. Hi ! There was a similar post a few days ago. Try this, as it fixed the problem: Start "Services": left-click on the "startbutton" type "Services" in the run-window select "Services" from the listed programs right-click and select "run as admin" (you can skip this if you are using an ADMIN-account, if so then just left-click) Scroll down or type "O" Take a look at OA´s "services", are they all set to "Automatically" ?
  23. Good to hear that OA works now. Regarding why it was off, when did you install Norton AV ?
  24. Start "Services": left-click on the "startbutton" type "Services" in the run-window select "Services" from the listed programs right-click and select "run as admin" (you can skip this if you are using an ADMIN-account, if so then just left-click) Scroll down or type "O" Take a look at OA´s "services", are they set to "Automatically" ?
  25. that sounds most unlikely. i´ve been using EAM & OA together for years, and i have never had any problems with a system restore. but there is an easy way to find out, disable EAM & OA and then do a system restore....
