  1. Had to uninstall the previous version, but the new free version seems to be working fine. Thanks for the help, Sandy
  2. My 3 day trial for 5.0 ended today and it no longer works, popup says license expired. Before downloading and installing the new free version (alwaresetup.exe) should the current version be uninstalled first. Thanks, Sandy
  3. After uninstalling asquared free, I'm now on the 3 day free trial for anti-malware 5. My understanding is that after 3 days I will have the choice of a free version as before and most of the features will be unusable. Will the free version be a shortened one or the same size as 5.0, just with unusable features. Thanks, Sandy
  4. Lynx, just an update. I think I solved the mystery of the Trace file, actually with your help. On my desktop one of my shortcuts is for Avira Antivirus. For some reason I stupidly decided to rename a few shortcuts including the one for Avira. Yes, it was renamed to Antivirus. A-squared apparently picked up on this. When I changed the shortcut name back to Avira Antivirus, no detection of any kind. When you asked if I removed anything, I remembered I had. I now need to learn to leave well enough alone! Thanks, Sandy
  5. Lynx, no, I haven't tried to remove or quarantine any other detections. A deep scan turned up only the same Trace. I'll remember about the attachment. Thanks
  6. Anything to worry about? I did submit for evaluation and just ignored for now. Using XP SP2, Avira antivirus, windows firewall. 7. Well, A2 still shows the detection after updating just now. Would it normally take this long to clear up a FP? Keep waiting, I guess. Sandy
  8. Lynx and Alan, I just did another update and it still detects that same file. Hopefully it'll be taken care of soon. Thanks for the replies on this. Sandy
  9. I just saw over at Freeware: A-squared that someone else also posted the same detection. I'll wait to see if it comes up as FP before I do anything. I probably should have posted there first, sorry. Thanks, sandy
  10. Could someone advise on results of todays scan.
