Have you blocked any ports from Windows processes from Firewall->Ports? Such as system or svchost.
I had your problem long time ago, and if I remember correctly, allowing those processes fixed my issues. Not sure though.
Every time I open Emsisoft AM. Also when I run "Scan with Anti-Malware" from windows context menu.
I'm on Win7 64bit Enterprise and Emsisoft is installed on SSD.
