  2. Something must of changed. I'm no longer getting a message saying when I click on this short cut; "The item a2guard.exe that this short cut refers to has been changed or moved so it will not work properly. Do you want to delete this short cut"? Looks like it now works like your short cut. It's there, but it does nothing when you click it. Maybe when I found it in my Program folder & clicked it got rid of the message.

Let me know if you here anything. a2guard.exe is in my program folder but the shortcut in my start menu says when you click on it; "The item a2guard.exe that this short cut refers to has been changed or moved so it will not work properly.   4. I might try that. But it's just a short cut was installed when I reinstalled EAM. But a2guard.exe is in my Program folder so it must be there.
  5. Yes EAM is working well. The short cut I'm referring to is in my start menu under the Emsisoft Anti-Malware folder. The shortcut is named Emsisoft Anti-Malmare Home Guard. When you click on it you get a message saying "The item a2guard.exe that this short cut refers to has been changed or moved so it will not work properly. Do you want to delete this short cut"? This is my question.
  6. Thanks for the email @Claude Bader As of this moment all is working well. But the reinstallation did not go smoothly. If you are interested in one happen read my response from Friday at 9:43 pm Easter time. All I want to know right now is about the missing short cut to a2guard.exe in my start menu. If the AV is working the way it should be then I don't need this short cut. Am I wrong?
  7. Good morning @ShadowPuterDudeso far this morning no issues. But like I posted above it wasn't smooth process. Don't know why since I didn't initiate it. But Emsi support has emailed me in reference to my issue. I already responded to them & told them as of this moment all is well outside of that shortcut for a2guard.exe & my Protection Shields not turning on automatically. But that only happened once during a restart. I told them you & @Claude Bader help solve this issue. But would still like to know If I should be concerned about having a missing short cut in my start folder right below Emisoft folder for a2guard.exe? Thanks.
  8. @ShadowPuterDude Finished uninstalling & reinstalling EAM but things did not go smoothly. Had no issues uninstalling EAM & rebooted the system 2x. Ran the Emsiclean tools. First the 64 bit tool which found a folder & I instructed to remove it & rebooted the system. Then I ran the 32 bit tool but got a message saying "Error, program bitness doesn't match bitness of your windows system". I then logged onto my workspace & added a new device. When the installer finished downloading I right clicked on the file & chose run as admin. Window opened up & stay at 0% installation for a couple of minutes & closed. Since nothing had changed & EAM had not appeared I decided to reboot the system. Upon rebooting nothing had changed again & EAM was not in my system tray. But since it was now in my 64 bit Program folders I decided to use @Claude Baderscript which worked & opened up EAM for the first time since last Sunday. However I now have a short cut in my start folder for Emsisoft Anti-Malware Home Guard that when you click to open gives the following message; "The item a2guard.exe that this short cut refers to has been changed or moved so it will not work properly. Do you want to delete this short cut"? Also upon doing another restart EAM loaded well initially the icon was green & seconds later the icon's color changed to warm me of an issue. The issues was none of my Protection Shield were on & I had to turn them on manually. Decided to do one more restart & the shield are on & as I'm typing this message I'm not seeing any issues. Thank again & sorry for the long post. I figured more info is better than less in case there's an issue waiting in the background. Is the missing short cut from my start menu to a2guard an issue? Because other than that & the shield not turning on automatically during one of the restarts everything else seems to be working. Thanks again.
  9. @ShadowPuterDude before I start the procedure tonight of uninstalling and reinstalling Emsisoft. Is there anything I need to do from the workspace before I uninstall Emsisoft? Don't want the workspace to be confused and use one of my unused licenses when I uninstall and reinstall it in a computer I was currently using. I plan to eventually install Emsisoft in my new laptop provided I can solve this issue.
  10. @ShadowPuterDudejust tried it again 3 x & it didn't work. Tomorrow when I get home from work & settle in I will start the process of removing 32-bit Emsisoft & install the .64-bit Emsisoft. Will post afterwards. Thanks again for your help.
  11. Thanks again I greatly appreciate that. I will try your script tonight and post if it worked. And if it doesn't work Friday after work I will uninstall it and reinstall the 64 the version following your instructions.
  12. Tonight when I get home from work I will try it one more time using your script. If it doesn't work I will try uninstalling it and reinstall the 64-bit version. But I will not do that tonight. If I need to uninstall and reinstall I'll save it for Friday night after work. Thanks and I'll let you know tonight if the script worked if not I'll remind you that I'll do the uninstall and reinstall on Friday after work. Thanks again I appreciate your help.
  13. Thanks for the reply. I tried it using one line at a time and hit enter after every line and it did not work. I was able to see it download something from the command prompt but when it finish nothing else happened. I'll be more than happy to try it again tonight when I get home from work. Also I don't know why I'm using the 32-bit version of this software when my computer is 64 bits. I started using EAM about 6 years ago with Online Armor. Also if none of this works should I uninstall EAM and install the 64-bit version? Like I said this is a 64-bit computer and I don't know why I'm using a 32-bit version of this software unless it has something to do with the fact at one time I was using this software along with Online Armor. Thanks and sorry for the long reply. But this is getting very frustrating. And I know you guys are trying your best to help me.

  15. @ShadowPuterDudeis there anything else I can do? I tried what you suggested last night & it didn't work. At this point EAM has not worked properly for almost a week. I've been using EAM for over 6 years & have never had any issues till now. Will uninstalling it & reinstalling it fix the issue. Although @Accumulatorwho started this thread had issues uninstalling & reinstalling EAM. Leaving for work soon.
  16. I'm not a techie & as a 6 year plus customer I'm getting frustrated since I was not planning to renew Emsisoft this year. Anyway just got home from work & It didn't work. I used an admin command prompt & I tried initially by entering one line at the time follow by enter & in the end nothing changed. Although I saw it download something from the command prompt. Was I suppose to enter one line at the time follow by enter? Also copying & pasting the whole script into the command prompt followed by enter also did not work.

  20. Ok finally got it to work. Sorry but the new Chromium Edge kept blocking it. Was able to get it very easily from Chrome. Although now I know how to get it from Edge. EmsisoftDiagLog.txt
