  1. If I can't open .exe files, I won't be able to topen the OTL file
  2. I still can't open any .exe file in safe or normal mode. Any ideas?
  3. Now none of my programs will open, including Notepad. When I attempt to open Explorer, Notepad, or any other program, I receive the message "Application not found" or it prompts me to select a program to open the file. The only program it lists that can be selected is Adobe Reader. I attempted to do a system restore, but I received a message that my disk has errors, that Windows has detected "file system corruption" and has to be checked for errors. It prompts me to "schedule a disk check", but then nothing happens after I select "schedule disk check." Should I try to do the system restore, or will the instructions above, and downloading OTL solve the problem? I cannot download OTL until I'm at another computer tomorrow.
  4. When I ran the deep scan using Emsisoft Anti-Malware, several objects were detected, quarantined, and removed. However, two files were detected with diagnosis "Malware.Win32.AMN!E1" that could not be quarantined or removed. When I attempted to quarantine and remove these, I received a message that "The following objects could not be removed.... Please consult the experts in the Emsisoft online forum for help with manual removal of this Malware." So, does anyone here have suggestions for how to remove these? I attempted to follow these instructions (http://support.emsisoft.com/forum-6/announcement-2-start-here-if-you-dont-we-are-just-going-to-send-you-back-to-this-thread/) but when I attempted to download http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe , nothing happened. I downloaded the EEK without a problem, but when I attempted to run the .exe file, the computer prompted me to select a program to use to run this. Any suggestions?
  5. Now I notice that when I attempt to open .exe files from my computer, the computer prompts me to select a program to open the file with. What should I do?
  6. These instructions say to download: http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe When I select this link, nothing happens. I was able to download the EEK without a problem.

Also, I don't see the file under "C:\Users" that supposedly has the Malware file. It doesn't appear when I look for it under the "C:\Users" directory.
