  1. On one system I noticed that update could not be done so I uninstalled and reinstalled. But cannot enter my valid key using my registered email and p/w so don't have a valid product or protection on one system. Thanks, Jon
  2. Hi Andrew: I got a warning today that license on one system expires in 30 days. But when I tried to change license, which I have already paid for, that was impossible as it asks for log in info and password, none of which I have. I know what the license should be changed to but the dialog no longer allows the change to be made on the client end, since it asks for log in information when I have no such online account. Even if one logs into the online account, one cannot change the license information. So I have an unused and paid for license which I cannot apply to the expiring license. There is something wrong with this system. Thanks
  3. It frequently happens that when I do a windows restore EAM, it won't update so have to uninstall and reinstall. When I did that today, it would not recognize my for my license key. How do I check for my license key?
  4. I paid Cleverbridge $59 for 2 yr. 4-system subscription for EAM with expiration 12/30/19. When I click on Renew, I am not given a choice of EIAMbut only for Business version. Please show me how to renew same version for 4 years.

  6. GT500, I appreciate your going the extra mile. I followed your instructions but problem not solved. Taskbar settings/notification area/ always shows EIS as "Off". Every time I chage it to "On'", it reverts back to Off on next reboot. So for now, I will use workaround of clicking program open and then closing it in order to see icon in notification area.
  7. Your idea is the most direct and likely will ultimately provide a fix. When I did this, I was disappointed that on reboot, EIS icon still did not show in notification area. I checked again in Advanced and was surprised to see that "Start on Windows startup" was no longer checked. I will continue to investigate this behavior and report back to you.
  8. Same phenomenon on two of my 5 systems after recent Win 10 update. I think it is an issue with how Win 10 handles EIS' icon.
  9. GT500, thanks. I am using a simpler fix, although it is not a true fix. After boot up, I click open EIS; the icon appears in the notification tray. Then I close EIS, though naturally the program is still loaded.

  11. EIS icon disappears from Win 10 notification area even though when I check programs loaded, EIS is shown as loaded. In "Taskbar Settings"/"Select which icons appear on taskbar" is set to "On". Thanks, CMA

  14. I get updates every 3 hours and had one 2 hours ago. I thought that the switch to EAM was supposed to occur on October 1.
  15. Arthur, I don't see any conversion of my EIS to EAM today.
  16. My EIS icon still says "Emsisoft Internet Security" and Windows Firewall still seems to be OFF, despite an EIS update this morning. Wasn't there supposed to be some change in EIS and Windows Firewall today?
  17. Arthur: Emsisoft has omitted the most important information of all to EIS users: how do we turn on Windows Firewall; what settings to use; when do we do it?
  18. So far I haven't seen any information from Emsisoft on the mechanism for turning on Windows firewall in various versions of Windows and what settings to use and when to do it. This has been left out entirely.
  19. Won't we have to turn on Windows Firewall when the conversion takes place? How will we know when to do that?
  20. Kevin, was that an "all clear"? In any case, thanks for reviewing the logs. "Drive-by downloads may happen when visiting a website, viewing an e-mail message or by clicking on a deceptive pop-up window." In my case, the drive-by attempted install occurred when I clicked on the Emsisoft popup link with an online article about Double Pulsar. CMA

Me: "I was reading the recent EIS notification re Double Pulsar malware and while reading it online with Chrome, there was an attempt at an exploit in the folder \Downloads\Emsi\ but fortunately EIS stopped the exploit." GT500: "The DoublePulsar exploit detection only detects if DoublePulsar is trying to install a payload, so it is possible that there is still a DoublePulsar infection present and it just hasn't tried installing another payload since the first time it was blocked. That being said, our DoublePulsar detection is fairly new and I'm not sure whether or not it is possible for something to trigger a DoublePulsar alert even if it isn't actually DoublePulsar (most Behavior Blocker alerts can be triggered by legitimate software). Just in case I recommend following these instructions for creating a new topic in our Help, my PC is infected! section, and one of our malware removal specialists will take a look at your logs."   22. Behavior Blocker log has no entry after 6/30/17, perhaps because the exploit was stopped by EIS. BTW, I noticed at the time of the EIS notification of exploit blocked that at that instant, EIS was "installing", which I cancelled. I then rebooted and did a Custom Scan.
