  1. Scanning my C: drive, some time after EMSI found a Trojan.Agent.BOZV (B) in c:\ProgramData\pleasant.exe, then stalled. What is my best plan of action? http://screencast.com/t/JaaDGEJO
  2. I restored, and immediately stopped the automatic update, switched off the beta option. My current verion is System works. Do I leave updates on? Usually I have it hourly, but I'm afraid that the "stable version", if it shifts to v11, will kill my system again. What is recommended? Thanks, Chamlin
  3. On my Win 7, 64-bit system, following the EIS v11.0.0.5847 update reboot, my system starts to crawl. Long boot time, Crashplan online backup can't connect to engine online, Thunderbird won't even open. I restored to an earlier image of my system, and all worked well. Then EIS wanted to install the update again, so I tried it, and the same problem occurred. NOW, I notice that even EIS can't connect. I changed from beta to stable in the update setting, and clicked to update. The popup says: "Could not connect to the update server. Please check your internet connection and proxy settings." http://screencast.com/t/4bAUxERB And if my update is set to beta, and that's what's caused the problem, if I go back to the image of the past system when it all worked, EIS, set to beta, will immediately download the problematic update before I can change the setting to stable...if that would even make the difference. Please advise asap.
  4. Fixed with the latest update. Thank you. BUT, now my VMware player is disconnected from the network. Has anyone had this issue?
  5. Fabian, disabled what you suggested but it made no difference so I've reenabled it. Have disabled Emsi Protection Service and the Asus one. Rebooted. No difference in boot time. I'm running a "trace" now to see what EIS is doing that that disabled and will report back here. Here is a list of "timings" of the boot. May provide insight. Boot up time 00:00 Black screen after restart 00:06 Windows boot manager screen with options for Windows; Macrium Recovery; and AX64 Recovery 00:09 Windows logo on black background 00:34 Light blue Windows Welcome screen 01:05 Purple desktop background, with no icons 01:23 Icons show up 01:30 Popup for which drives were recognized, and I'm ready to go
  6. Thanks, Christian. Recognizing the impossibility of this question, can you define "near future" just a little? And generally, how long is it from 1st beta to general release?
  7. Thanks for the reply, Fabian. If I disable that, what is the risk? And If the computer is set to Autologon (to my administrator profile), would it make a difference?
  8. I've been having boot traces done on my SSD which is taking a long time to boot up (1 minute 30 seconds). EIS is ranging from 32 to 50 seconds. Is this unusual? Is there something I can do to make this faster?
  9. RESULTS (logs emailed to Christian): 1. Ran the debug script and began reproducing the issue. 2. Desktop (DT) tried to access the Laptop drive (LT). Failed. 3. DT tried to ping LT. Failed. 4. Turned off DT firewall. Tried to ping LT failed. And DT couldn't access LT drives. BUT: 5. LT was able to ping DT, but was NOT able to access drives on DT. 6. Turned off LT firewall. DT then able to ping LT. Network fully operational, both directions. 7. Turned both firewalls back on. Network still operational. 8. Rebooted DT but left LT on. After reboot, DT could still access LT but LT could not access DT. 9. After rebooting LT, network fully blocked again.
  10. EDIT in BOLD ITALICS. 1. In my home, I'm using a two computer "work" network on Windows 7, which has worked fine for over a year. 2. In late November, maybe on November 28 or 29, with no other changes to the system, no windows updates, no new software installation, the network stopped working. 3. Both the pc and laptop show up in the router, as does the printer. 4. The two computers and printer are connected via ethernet cables directly to the 2wire router (which I turned off, let sit, turn on to rule out a router problem). 5. Both computers can print to the printer. 6. Neither computer can access the other at all. 7. From a DOS prompt, each computer can ping itself, but neither can ping the other. 8. This doesn't seem to change when I turn off Emsisoft Internet Security on both by clicking "shut down protection". But I don't know what really gets turned off when I do that. 9. Just tried deactivating only the Firewall. Deactivating the firewall allowed the network to function, even after reactivating. Now I will reboot and check if it continues to work. I will come back and report. I'm about to run the debug output on the desktop. I hope it's okay to just do it on the desktop instead of on the laptop too. That's a lot of time, but if needed, I'll do it. I will then email it in. btw, I've seen this thread: http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/16110-eis-9-firewall-blocking-private-network-server/?hl=ping It's a "private" network.
  11. Using OA Premium on a Windows XP SP3 system. Every time I open Acrobat Std. v7, or Acrobat reader opens in my Firefox browser, I get a series of popups. It's usually 4 in a row, but sometimes if I don't check the allow/remember buttons fast enough, I'll get an extra one or two popups shortly thereafter. I have tried deleting the Acrobat entries and then manually adding them back to no avail. Here are screenshots of the popups, in order of occurrence: 1st popup every time Acrobat Std. v7 is opened: http://screencast.com/t/1kBvH1TCLg 2nd popup every time Acrobat Std. v7 is opened: http://screencast.com/t/4lvXr2uepDD 3rd popup every time Acrobat Std. v7 is opened: http://screencast.com/t/4lvXr2uepDD 4th popup every time Acrobat Std. v7 is opened: http://screencast.com/t/8i2SZxzf An example of one of the "bonus" popups: http://screencast.com/t/FSYSHOiU Can anyone assist? Thanks, Chamlin
  12. Do I have to uninstall OA++ if I want to just go back to OA Premium?
  13. Hi All, Currently have OA++ licensed on two computers. Also using NOD32 AV. 1. Is ++ necessary/worth it if I already have NOD32 or is Premium sufficient? 2. Haven't "actively" used OA for anything other than firewall (haven't really done other scans). 3. When I click on the desktop PC's emailed renew link, it shows one license. My laptop got its own email and shows 1 license as well. How do I renew at the 2 license discount for Premium or ++? Thanks, Chamlin
  14. Thanks, everyone. I've contacted Tech Support, and once a solution is found, I'll come back and post it here for the benefit of all users.
  15. How do I connect with the development team? What are my "tech support" options these days? Thanks for your help!
  16. Thanks catprincess. 1. What is SCW and how do I rerun it? 2. It's not just acrobat reader it's the full acrobat, and yes, it's allowed/trusted. What is the downside of setting it as an installer and how would I do that? And if it's just a inadvisable thing to do, how do I get further assistance (on both issues)? Re: 1. Safety Wizard is being run now. You meant run it not the trust everything on your computer, didn't you?
  17. 3 Issues: 2 at startup, 1 throughout the day. I've had these programs for a long time, but now these issues have arisen. Please help. Issue 1 & 2: At startup Every day, OA++ alerts me with A) Cloudmark Desktop One, and B) M-Audio Task Bar Icon (see this screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/users/chamlin/folders/Jing/media/f0d1ffeb-8112-4f6b-b336-43eac42a60c6) I have tried every combination of Trust, Allow, Remember, even Install. I have tried deleting the entries and manually adding them. But every day they keep coming back. What can I do? Issue 3: Adobe Cleanup I started getting popups (see screenshots below), and no matter what I do, OA++ never remembers. 1. http://screencast.com/t/B9znBQTvUN 2. http://screencast.com/t/YhbTbkbm7R4U 3. http://www.screencast.com/users/chamlin/folders/Jing/media/92a3db16-b171-4389-8636-cac3e17f0281 4. http://www.screencast.com/users/chamlin/folders/Jing/media/01ee29d4-953e-4908-b33b-618f35ec35f2 With appreciation, chamlin
