  1. When I go to import backed up settings (specifically a2settings.ini), Emsisoft Real-Time Protection disappears from the Startup tab of Task Manager. When I go to start my system, the Emsisoft Security Center does not appear in the Processes or Details tab of Task Manager nor does the shield icon appear in the hidden icons area of the taskbar. When I revert to factory settings and restart the system (and even importing all but a2settings.ini then changing my settings manually), it works as intended. I have "Start on Windows startup" enabled and the core protection does start when I start Windows but not the Security Center. My Management console has "Start on Windows startup" enabled with all policies and I set it to "Local Only" (Though this is probably irrelevant). Edit/Workaround: Regardless of if I have the "Start on Windows startup" enabled from the backed up settings, I have to uncheck and recheck the box every time I import my settings from a backup in order to re-enable startup protection. What happens when I import a2settings.ini What is supposed to appear:
  2. I think I might have solved the problem on my own. The problem was most likely caused by user error. Somebody close the thread.
  3. I just sent logs.db3 via email. Update 8:50:28 A.M. EST Failed. Guess I'm gonna have to deal with this problem. Update 9:18:14 A.M. EST I decided to reinstal EAM. Did not fix the problem. I give up.

  5. Very well, I am currently using the support section to send the log files using the "Attach Logs" section on the right of the "Send an email" interface. However, I am getting a server error off of the Emsisoft Diagnostic Tool download link provided in the instructions that you have provided. Update 7:43:35 Just sent all but the "Logs Database", since it was larger than 10mb. If you need that, please let me know and I'll find a way to send it to the support email that you provided earlier.

I don't know if I should be doing this, but I was monitoring one of my a2service logs from ProgramData in Notepad++ and every time I try to add or modify an exclusion I just added, I get the following error message in the log file: Below this message, I am getting: "QA: type = quaReloadUserWhiteList" I am not 100% certain if this is relevant to the problem, but the fact that I am getting an error message shows that there is something wrong somewhere. I am a little reluctant to send off any debug logs right this instance. Regardless, I am simply trying to point out the fact that an error is being produced every time I try to do this.
  7. I have management console set to Local Only. In fact, I get "Invalid Argument (EmptyLicenseKey)" when I try to use management console (Probably caused by user error). Regardless, I try to avoid using it unless I have to. This never happened until the last EAM software update.
  8. Hello, I seem to be having a problem with adding folders and programs from a drive on my system other than the system drive (C:) to the exclusions (Both Monitoring and Scanning). When I try to add a folder or program from another drive, the entry will appear at the bottom of the list regardless of naming order, EAM won't honor it, and it will go away when I update EAM. It does not happen when I add a folder or program from the system drive. In order for me to add an exclusion from another drive, I must export EAM settings and manually add the exclusion to the exported a2whitelist.ini and then import it. An example of what I see when I try to add an exclusion from another drive (E:) is provided as an attachment. The red highlight around the entry was simply added in a paint program to show what I am describing.
  9. I just renewed my License to Emsisoft Anti Malware and I noticed that the license changed from days left to "Active Subscription". Can I undo this to where the license says (Days left)? Also, I cannot stop auto renewal on My Emsisoft.
  10. For some reason, it seems as if as of 6:02:37 PM EST, it takes about 1 minute and 27 seconds to about 1 minute and 56 seconds to finish completely. They seem to take more than a minute to simply initialize the update. I know not if the problem is relevant to my computer or the servers. A power outage happened in my area recently, and may be somewhat relevant.

  12. (Absurdist nonsense) You know, some other antivirus software has browser extensions (that come with the software) and there are even extensions on the chrome store that block sites. I wonder if it would be a good idea if there was a browser extension that came with Emsisoft. I don't even know how to use the hosts file. I do know where it is located, however.
  13. When I tried to use surf protection in Google Chrome version 69.0.3497.81, I couldn't get any of my surf protection features to work correctly (It wouldn't block websites I entered). I think Edge has always had this problem and now Chrome has it as well.
  14. Good call, sir. That does seem to be a decent idea. Sometimes I feel irritated because of strange things I have never noticed before, especially if they cause clutter. The only way I know of fixing my problem (answering my own question) so far is to uncheck "Core" from the "View" dropdown. However, I don't like turning that off since I commonly check the time my PC starts up or shuts down through these logs (Actions of "Shutdown Received" and "Protection Started").
