  6. Your a-squared log shows an infected Restore Point. Antivirus Tools Cannot Clean Infected Files in the System Restore Folder. The System Restore feature in Windows protects all folders and files in the System Restore folder on the Windows partition. This folder and all of its subfolders are the data store that the System Restore feature uses to restore your computer's operating system to a previous state from a previous point in time. Although some antivirus programs may have the ability to work with files that have been compressed or stored in .zip or .cab file format, the System Restore feature does not permit these utilities to manipulate these files within the data store. The data store is protected for data integrity purposes, and the System Restore feature is the only method you can use to obtain access to the data store. Because of this, the antivirus program is unable to remove the virus from the file or files in the data store. The files in the data store are inactive and can be used only by the System Restore feature. Otherwise your logs show no malware.
  7. Your logs aren't showing any malware. Download -->> OTL <<-- to your desktop. Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted. When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output. Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check. Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long. When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. Note: These logs can be located in the OTL. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically. Attach both logs with your next reply.
  8. You are using MsConfig to prevent several items from loading at Windows start. MsConfig is a diagnostic tool, and not intended to be used in the manner you are using MsConfig. Enable everthing you used MsConfig to disable. If you are recieving error messages, related to these items, at system start; we can fix this without using MsConfig. ----------------------------------------------------------- Now we need to use ComboFix to remove some stuff. Make sure that the copy of combofix.exe that you downloaded earlier is on your Desktop but Do not run it! If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work. Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ): KILLALL:: Driver:: nhqsxiopdvsll File:: C:\WINDOWS\system32\joneyefa.dll_old C:\WINDOWS\system32\wepepori.dll_old c:\windows\system32\drivers\btjjkuudo.sys Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing! You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop. Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe Follow the prompts. When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt I will ask for this log below Note: DO NOT mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall. The ComboFix folder should not be renamed since ComboFix and even we would have suspicions about it. Also when you uninstall CF, the folder would not be removed since it does not look for that folder name. ----------------------------------------------------------- Attach fresh logs for: ComboFix (C:\combofix.txt) ISeeYouXP Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

  18. Download ComboFix from one of these locations: Save as Combo-Fix.exe during the download. ComboFix must be renamed before you download to your Desktop Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 * IMPORTANT !!! Save Combo-Fix to your Desktop Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools See HERE for help Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts. As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. **Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures. Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message: Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware. When finished, ComboFix will produce a log. Note: 1. Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall! 2. Remember to re-enable your anti-virus and anti-spyware before reconnecting to the Internet. ----------------------------------------------------------- Attach fresh logs for: ComboFix (C:\combofix.txt) a-squared Free/Anti-Malware ISeeYouXP HiJackFree Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

  22. Sorry, Mary. Run CCleaner. I didn't update my instructions after I replaced ATF Cleaner with CCleaner. You don't need to worry about those folders if they aren't present, and no need to run HideIT.bat, after running the ComboFix uninstall command.
  23. OK, I have edited my previous OTL instructions. Try running the removal script now.
