okosijomiti 0
Hi, I just started using the Emsisoft Emergency Kit, and as I was looking at the open ports section I noticed there were, at random times, popping up dozens and dozens of open TCP ports by the process 'system', and all of them were stated as 'Waiting'. They seem to come randomly and disappear quite shortly, and I notice that it always happens in a orderly fasion; ie. first there were a bunch of open ports popping up around the 1500 range, then 1600, 1700 etc. Now when I notice them appearing, they're around the 3700 range. The port activity never changes from 'Waiting' to anything else. I was just wondering, is this a fairly common occurence or is it an indication of a security risk? Thanks. okosijomiti 0
PS. I forgot to mention that I cannot view any information for the process 'system'. It does not display filepath, description, version, copyright, etc. And the process ID is always 0.
Christian Peters 99
Hello, there can be many reasons for this behaviour. For example DSN or other IP requests from the system or 3rd part software like filesharing porgrams. First we suggest to check your system for infections. Please read the description on http://support.emsisoft.com/forum-6/announcement-2-start-here-if-you-dont-we-are-just-going-to-send-you-back-to-this-thread/ and create the needed logfiles. Then please open a new topic in the subforum Help, my PC is infected! and attach the logs to the topic. One of our specialists will check the logs and give you assistance.
