It is still bundled with EAM, however I do believe it has been a while since it has been updated. The database it uses does get updated though.

Emsisoft HiJackFree will most likely be no longer included in Emsisoft Anti-Malware 9. We strongly recommend to use Microsoft's free Sysinternals Autoruns tool instead. Removing HiJackFree from our product portfolio is just another step towards our company vision of creating the most effective and most lightweight protection system.

Hi Christian

Yeap, sysinternals/autoruns by Mark and Bryce is a great tool and okay to handle, I think. So for me, it would be okay if it's removed from portfolio .I just have one question that i would like to have elaborate a little bit further, if possible of course . When we are talking about a light product, then what do we mean by that. The lowest use of ram, or the lowest Disk I/O, or both (would there be any benefits for loading virus database into ram,). I am just so curious..hope it is okay, that I ask

Thanks

Jan

Our aim is to create the most effective overall protection against all threats lurking on the internet, combined with the least possible resource usage. By resource usage we mean potential slowdown of the overall system which includes CPU, RAM, harddisk, network, etc.

Thanks for responding, it's very pleasant to hear that by light product, Emsisoft means tweaking, it's already strong product, on all fronts.(includes CPU, RAM, hard disk, network, etc. as you wrote) I asked because I have seen products described themselves as being light (small ram usage), but when installed it drags the system down due to heavy I/O activity e.g. Leaving a heavy footprint on every process on the system...... So I really take my cap of, (Sorry no hat) , because I think that the words you wrote,"Our aim is to create the most effective overall protection against all threats lurking on the internet, combined with the least possible resource usage." is really uplifting as a ordinary Emsisoft user to read.

Thanks

Jan
