jdo 0
When I start EEK 4, the first thing it does is "loading millions of signatures." I assume it is copying the signatures on my USB thumb drive to my PC's memory. I can not start downloading update signatures until this first step is completed. Are the updated signatures available when a scan is run? Would it make more sense to update the signatures on the thumb drive before copying signatures to the PC? Fabian Wosar 390
I can not start downloading update signatures until this first step is completed. Are the updated signatures available when a scan is run? They are. You may have noticed that after an update is finished the application will wait for a few seconds. Those seconds are caused by EEK reloading the signature databases. Would it make more sense to update the signatures on the thumb drive before copying signatures to the PC?EEK does need a fully initialized scan engine in order to perform an update. So while it would potentially cut down a few seconds of initial load time, it currently isn't technically feasible at this point.
