Cant quarantine all the items reported on.

Recommended Posts

The software seems to have quarantined most of the items it reported on (700 Odd) but there are a couple left. Have run the reports but not totally sure I understand how to save the reports for you. I think I have attached the quarantine list - am I supposed to delete these files?

I cannot see an option to save a copy of the 2 files that it cannot quarantine????

Trace.file.smartengine (A)

Trace.file.bestspywarescanner (A)

Thanks

Complete novice!

Please post the log from Emsisoft Anti-Malware's scan showing these detections that could not be removed by following the instructions below:

  • Open Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
  • Click on Logs in the menu on the left.
  • Go to the Scan tab (it may take a minute for the list of scan logs to load).
  • Select the scan log from the list.
  • Click on the View details button to open the log.
  • Click on File and then Save As to save it on your desktop.
  • Attach the scan log you saved on your desktop to a reply by using the More Reply Options button to the lower-right of where you type in your reply to access the attachment controls.

OK, that is the Emsisoft Emergency Kit. Fortunately, it saves the logs in a really easy to find place.

If you go to this folder; C:\EEK\Run there should be a folder named Reports inside of it. That Reports folder contains all of the Emergency Kit Scanner's logs. Please attach the log from the scan to a reply for me to review. You can attach files by using the More Reply Options button to the lower-right of where you type in your reply to access the attachment controls.

Please allow me to apologize for the slow response.

Lets clean up some of the stuff I am seeing in your logs with AdwCleaner and Junkware Removal Tool.

Please download AdwCleaner and save it on your desktop.

  • Close all open programs and internet browsers (you may want to print our or write down these instructions first).
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Delete.
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • You will be prompted to restart your computer. A text file will open n Notepad after the restart (this is the log of what was removed), which you can save on your desktop.
  • Please attach that log file to a reply by clicking the More Reply Options button to the lower-right of where you type in your reply.
  • If you lose that log file for any reason, you can find it at C:\AdwCleaner[s1] on your computer.
Please download Junkware Removal Tool and save it on your desktop.
  • Shut down your anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software now to avoid potential conflicts.
  • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click it and select Run as administrator.
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
  • On completion, a log is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Please attach the JRT log file to a reply by clicking the More Reply Options button to the lower-right of where you type in your reply.
