It's no big deal but...

Mostly because there is no good way to track all active users anymore without adding additional tracking to our backends. The old number was possible because we forced everyone to create an account with us. However, this system has been replaced with a new one several years ago. In theory we could start tracking all hardware IDs or keys, track who is updating and figure out a number of active users that way, but I doubt our users would be too happy about it. So bottom line: The small marketing benefit for us simply isn't worth the decrease of privacy of all our users.
