Emsisoft Anti-Malware with AVG...........

Recommended Posts

I agree with Siketa.  :)

Having more than one antivirus program running at the same time can seriously degrade the performance of your system. As a rule of thumb, one should run one firewall, one antivirus program in memory, and one antispyware utility in memory. It's fine to have other security tools available on an as-needed or on-demand basis, but when multiple tools simultaneously perform the same function, you're asking for trouble.

While I agree with Jeff and siketa, Emsisoft is tested extensively to be compatible with other AV realtime protection. It will run fine together with AVG. So if you like AVG and you want to try out Emsisoft, you can keep both running.

Note that this is true for Emsisoft, but not for many other AV solutions, a combination of which can indeed cause a serious decrease in system performance or even crash the system completely when run simultaneously.

I would believe that some people do use Emsisoft Anti-Malware alongside AVG without issues. If there are issues, then exclusions usually resolve them.
