andrewek 28
Hi all! Today through AutoUpdate established EAM 9! The question is: is there a need to install EAM 9 so to say, completely? That is to completely remove and re-install with the installation file? Do I need to do to make the program work? Or all files of the previous version ( entirely correctly replaced? Fabian Wosar 390
No need to reinstall or anything. You are fully up to date and switched to version 9.0 now .
andrewek 28
Ok! But Windows does not see the new version! Since, however, was before.. there ( in the list of programs) still version 8.
Fabian Wosar 390
Ok! But Windows does not see the new version! Since, however, was before.. Define "Windows does not see the new version" please. We don't update the uninstall link, so that will continue to refer to the old version. Also Explorer may continue to display the old icon in the start menu due to the icon cache.

andrewek 28
Thank You, Fabian. p.s.My first impression about new version- is great! Any errors in the translation- NO, all settings are preserved automatically, works quickly and perfectly. Thanks to the team!
RichardBurt 1
I'm curious how the update will work once the software is released to the general public (specifically Emsisoft Internet Security) Will the update be detected, the current Emsisoft Anti-malware and Online Armor uninstalled automagically, both licence keys merged into one and then the update installed?--and-- Will it be a seamless upgrade suitable for idiots (ie my customers) or will I need to do it for them all? (I have about 25 licences for the full IS package and don't particularly relish the idea of having to manually do 25 upgrades). Will the current user-generated rules from Anti-malware and Online Armor be imported automagically?
Christian Mairoll 237
Since the product itself changes, you will need to uninstall EAM and OA and freshly install EIS afterwards. Your support team is advised to exchange keys for free on request. Alternatively you can keep both products standalone.
RichardBurt 1
Many thanks for the fast reply. How will we be able to exchange the licence keys? Will it be done through the licence management page?

andrewek 28
Hi! I want to ask about the lack HiJack Free in EAM 9. The developers believe that this tool is no longer needed? There is no sense to install HiJack Free as a separate program for periodic inspection system? And whether HiJack grow? The program now not even in the list of products Emsisoft... p.s. sorry, I asked already in another section, but there probably won't be the answer.. http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/4333-hijackfree/
Guest Tempus
Hi! The program now not even in the list of products Emsisoft... Andrey, you can find "Emsisoft HiJackFree" as a standalone app, as a link on the same page as you download the Emsisoft Emergency Kit. You just have to scroll down a bit. RichardBurt 1
Has any other Windows 8.1 users noticed this? (I'm running 64 bit version, Windows 8.1 Pro) Before installing IS beta, the mail app will automatically receive emails and display notifications about new emails. After installing mail app: Stops receiving new messages Doesn't display new mail notifications The mail app cannot be added to "lock screen notifications" and is missing from the list of available apps that can be added. Error messages in mail app settings about enabling background permissions in settings / permissions. Also unable to change sync settings from manual to anything else. Uninstalling IS beta doesn't resolve the issue and doing a system restore doesn't fix the problems either. The only fix I have discovered is to completely remove the account from the computer and add it back again. In my case - twice.... First time was to figure out which software was causing the problem. The second time was after confirming it was IS beta. Antimalware 9 and Online Armor are both reinstalled and everything is working as expected.

Kevin Zoll 309
@andrey, @Legend _ HiJackFree has been discontinued and is no longer supported, it will be removed from all our products as they are updated. I respectfully ask that no one link users to a download for HiJackFree, even if we still have a product available that has HiJackFree as part of the product. As has been stated several times in other topics on our support forums, HiJackFree has been discontinued and is no longer supported.

Fred Singh 5
EIS: Browsing might be slow with enabled firewall. @ThePierrezou Sorry to hear of your problems Please remember EIS is still in beta stage and really should not be run on a gaming machine. Maybe use EAM stable until EIS has matured.
ThePierrezou 0
Thanks but i don't want to change. I just wait an update for this (it would be good to update the installation sotware for EIS i think ^^ )

Fred Singh 5
Feedback re: EIS 9 [beta] Had this installed on our 3 home machines for 3-4 weeks and trialed all the beta versions, found this too heavy and sluggish on 2 machines (Win 7 and 8.1 64bit -- 4 gb of Ram) Noticed EIS9 Beta using in excess of 300 megs of RAM also, this seems to have increased on recent beta builds. Now reverted back to previous deadly duo: EAM9/OAP Will monitor updates and progress with EIS 9 [beta] Good luck guys
cbeckstein 0
Unfortunatly I had to dump EIS for EAM yesterday. EIS all of a sudden got buggy and would not open, tried several re-installs but same thing. Or the firewall would not work on re-installs.Maybe a buggy update? same here (Windows 8.1 pro 64bit): one of the last updates has rendered the firewall part of EIS 9 IS beta completely useless... after some time IS9 beta firewall slows down LAN connections to a crawl and firewall often does not switch on upon boot, in that case autopmatic problem repair of Windows sometimes fixes it by repairing standard gateway deactivating firewall and reactivating sometimes brings IS9 beta firewall back to normal -- not always beacause sometimes when I reactivate the IS firewall, IS9 beta hangs (does not react to right clicks, has to be killed and restarted) at the moment i have switched the IS 9 beta firewall off and the internal WIndows firewall on to be able to work in a normal way

RichardBurt 1
What is the best way to update / upgrade existing installations of the IS 9 beta? Tick or untick "Enable beta updates" box?
Siketa 67
If you want new beta version, tick it. If you untick that option, EIS will update directly to the final version, when available.

cbeckstein 0
Coming back to my post #229 about massive firewall problems with the latest EIS beta releases: with version 9.0.0.4450 things became better: for small files no noticable difference to the Windows firewall for large files (many Gigabytes) EIS firewall causes about a 30% performace drop in net thruput (even for SAMBA transfers within the local net)

Fabian Wosar 390
The file you linked to is not the stable release. This is actually the current Emsisoft Internet Security Pack setup (EAM + OA). I would appreciate it if you could stop posting false information and just wait until the official announcement has been made. Thanks.
