Warning message in Event Viewer about OA

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

Just installed OA onto Windows 8.1 running on an i5-4690 CPU.

In Event Viewer I keep getting a warning message, which looks OA-related:

Event 16001,AFD

A TDI filter (\Driver\OAmon) was detected. This filter has not been certified by Microsoft and may cause system instability.

Is there anything I can do in OA settings to make this error go away ...?

It's not an error but a warning. Microsoft deprecated TDI filter drivers like the one used by Online Armor in Windows 8 and 8.1 and displays this warning whenever a TDI driver is loaded. We would have transitioned to WFP by now but the new filtering platform that is supposed to make NDIS and TDI filters redundant is still quite unstable and unreliable in our experience, which is why we stick to TDI for the moment. There is no way for you to avoid this warning, but you can safely ignore it.
