Should I switch to EIS?

Recommended Posts

I've been offered the exchange program to EIS then I read:

http://blog.emsisoft.com/2014/09/19/whats-the-point-of-having-a-firewall/

Behavior blocking isn’t HIPS though, and neither term is freely interchangeable with “firewall.....

....The Emsisoft Online Armor product is a HIPS that combines with a solid software firewall component, but it is mostly a product made for geeks

So I would lose the HIPS part which is really why I bought OA. It reminded me of Sygate I used in the XP era.

I am not convinced I should change. Is there any other material I could read to understand the differences.

One convincing argument would be that OA is on the road to being retired.

If you like the HIPS and if it indeed is the reason you bought OA, there is no point in considering a switch to EIS. We don't plan to offer a HIPS within EIS ever. So it will never be an option for you the same way OA is. At the moment there are no plans to discontinue OA at the moment either.
