Sundog
Running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1. Purchased and downloaded Emsisoft Internet Security (EIS). Uninstalled Emsisoft AntiMalware (EAM) using Revo. Scanned for leftovers and deleted them. Ran EIS setup. Install failed. Error pane message: "Emsisoft Protection is waiting for a component (service) to start..." Uninstalled EIS using Revo. Scanned for leftovers and deleted them. Rebooted, ran EIS setup, install failed with same message. Downloaded emsiclean.exe (EC) and ran it. Made no difference when I tried rebooting and running EIS setup. Same message. Peter2150
My first recommendation would be stop using Revo. There is a cleanup file, but I can't find the link. One of the emsisoft guys will help you on that. What you might try in the mean time is reinstall the last one you installed, and uinstall it with the regular uninstaller. Christian Peters
Hello Sundog, it looks like the EIS firewall driver is not installed correctly. Is this the case the Emsisoft Protection Service can not be started. Did you use a other 3rd part firewall software on this computer in the past? INeedAMedic
@Sundog never use revo uninstaller to uninstall antivirus or internet security suite. Use revo uninstaller to uninstall other software such as Google Chrome, Games, or Itunes. NEVER USE REVO TO UNINSTALL ANTIVIRUS OR INTERNET SECURITY SUITE, because that is not how you uninstall antivirus or internet security in today society. Here is the Emsisoft Uninstall tool utility in case if you need it. https://dl.emsisoft.com/Emsiclean.zip Edited July 10, 2018 by GT500 Updated link for Emsiclean. There are now two versions (32-bit and 64-bit) bundled in a ZIP archive. Run EmsiClean64, and if you see an error message then run EmsiClean32.
