Accessing windows shares from a different subnet

Recommended Posts

I have openVPN running next to an Online Armor firewall, and I'm finding that I can't access network shares while the firewall is activated. Is there a way I can change this? I have tried adding an exclusion for openVPN in the online armour options

You may need to add rules to allow the Windows networking ports, however this could expose your computer to risk if your Internet connection is not protected by a router/modem with NAT (Network Address Translation).

I would believe those ports are as follows:

  • 137 (UDP)
  • 138 (UDP)
  • 139 (TCP)
  • 445 (TCP)
