Why is this file not being detected?!

Every once in a while when I am doing a quick scan, Emsisoft pauses on this file and as far as I know it is a known malicious file. Why is it not being detected? I've searched for it manually but I can't find it and other second-opinion scanners don't find anything either.

Emsisoft's malware database lists numerous variants of that file as being infected.

EAM uses Bitdefender's malware signatures, and Bitdefender's malware database lists that file as indicative of the win32.worm.mabezat family.

You should probably seek guidance through Emsisoft's "Help, my PC is infected" Forum, to ensure that this potentially serious infection is removed from your PC.

Good luck!

That file doesn't exist on your system. During the traces scan, EAM will check whether various registry keys or files exist on your system. During that scan, the indicator shows which file or key it is currently looking for. That does not mean however, that it actually exists.
