I ran malwarebytes at the time and it purported to find the trojan and clean the machine, it did not. Now the system will not boot. I took my machine to a repair center that demonstrated via linux that the files were indeed encrypted. They've recommended Emsisoft going forward, however, they seem to be unable to recover any data from the machine. Thanks, Mark Link to post Share on other sites
