High ram usage after installing emsisoft

Recommended Posts

According to Microsoft it is. They seem to want to cache everything in RAM these days, although the idea of supplementing the pagefile by compressing data in RAM isn't that bad if it doesn't cause performance issues like some of their caching technologies do. If it's compressed in RAM then in theory it should be faster to decompress it and move it back into usable memory than it would be to move it back into RAM from the hard drive.
