Missing text again during scan

After reporting the text was restored on 23rd May I reinstalled the program on 24th. I'm fairly sure the text was still present after reinstalling but it’s definitely gone now. I'm using version 11.7.0.6394 and I don’t enable beta updates.

The same thing happened to me but it was a temporary fix.

New beta build hopefully fixes it completely.

If I enable beta updates for this fix and then switch back to stable updates, what happens when the stable fix is finally released and let's say it's slightly different to the beta?

If you enable beta updates, you will get the latest beta with the fix.

They usually promote this same beta to the stable release if some major bugs are not found.

Once the new stable version is out, your EAM will not update cause it will already have that version. 

 

Then you can switch to stable updates again.

If you switch updates to stable channel while the latest beta is still actual, the first manual/automatic update will revert EAM to the last stable version.

Personally, I always use beta updates and if some problem occurs, switch to stable channel and revert back to the previous version that was working fine.

If you haven't already installed the beta, then here's how to do so:

  • Open Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
  • Click on Settings in the menu at the top.
  • Click on Updates in the menu at the top.
  • On the left, under Update Settings, click on the box to the right of Update feed and select Beta from the list.
  • Click on the Update now button on the right side.

I changed the update feed to beta and manually updated to 11.8.0.6439, which has restored the missing text.

 

It’s successfully updating every hour automatically as before but the updates are now shown as manual updates in the log.
