stapp 158
EAM.... Win 7....6821 Did a clean install of EAM after uninstalling and also running Emsi Clean. Install went smoothly, I was asked for license key during install and after updates defs went in I was asked via the slide to do a computer restart. After the restart I was asked to do everything again...license key checking for defs.. I had the old way of debug logging still enabled, so I have attached the logsin case you are interested in them. a2service_20161018160306(3712).zip
Frank H 109
Hi stapp what installer did you use ? This is expected behavior when you use an outdated installer. Thanks
stapp 158
I used the EAM one from here http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/25208-emsisoft-anti-malware-emsisoft-internet-security-12-beta-test/ Why is it expected behaviour to have to do it all twice? Frank H 109
ok, could you pls re-download the installer and retry ? he one i just downloaded was version 6821 and should not lead to a computer restart. It is expected as we need some optimization in that process. all entered data is not saved after the computer restart.
stapp 158
Do you mean I have to uninstall etc etc and do it all again? If yes, you may have to wait Frank (as usual you always ask me to do things when I have to get dinner ready) Did logs not show what happened? The slide asked me to restart so I pressed the button on the slide.
Frank H 109
Do you mean I have to uninstall etc etc and do it all again? yes please (as usual you always ask me to do things when I have to get dinner ready) I do this with a reason: still waiting for your invitation... It makes no sense to check logs, as when you used the previous installer, the issue is expected.
stapp 158
Be honest Frank... one of the Devs (or Fabian) read my bug report and replaced the outdated installer from that link with the current one. It's a terrible thing to do to testers
Frank H 109
nah, stapp, this is an automated process that runs at ~17UTC. All our installers are recreated everyday. so..i think that the issue didn't show-up with this latest installer ? thanks
stapp 158
This is a screenshot of the installer I downloaded at 1 pm today UK time. I installed it 3 hours later. You can clearly see what it is.... 6821 (I have no idea what ~17UTC is ) No I haven't re-downloaded the 'same' installer again, I wanted to say what you said about my proof in this screenshot first
stapp 158
OK Frank... new day... new install... same result... so can you please check the logs. EAM... Win 7.... uninstalled previous version, rebooted, Emsi cleaned. Installer was downloaded from this link at 6.30am this morning. http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/25208-emsisoft-anti-malware-emsisoft-internet-security-12-beta-test/ Ran installer, was asked for license info. Then asked to reboot PC via update slide. After restart was asked again for key (check time on screenshoots.) So why am I asked to restart PC when it is the latest installer and not outdated? a2wizard_20161019072338(3240).zip

Frank H 109
Hi stapp Frank you lied to me !! i didn't, the issue wasn't fixed yet. We just tested and you won't get a reboot request during install wizard with current v12 stable installer. cheers
stapp 158
What version is on this post? http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/25208-emsisoft-anti-malware-emsisoft-internet-security-12-beta-test/ If it is beta...why is it still there? I downloaded from there this morning and installed on Windows 10...I was asked to reboot
Frank H 109
If it is beta...why is it still there? I downloaded from there this morning and installed on Windows 10...I was asked to reboot I've just removed the links. We have corrected the issue in the v12 stable feed only, this is why I asked you to download that installer, not the beta
stapp 158
hi stapp, we've fixed the issue with the v12 stable feed, just released a fresh new beta + installer. so feel free to retest (just before you supper ) thanks See your post above, the way it was worded made it seem that it was the beta installer I had to test because it was the same as the stable one now. Anyway I'm not uninstalling and reinstalling it again for the moment. My machines are tired
Frank H 109
no problem stapp, we've tested this already and no reboots required.
