cannot create bin64\epp.sys

Recommended Posts

Hi I've been trying to use your emergency kit but I have downloaded from various sources and always get this message as it tries to install.  Please can you help me get round this.  I have tried several other malware options and they find nothing but would like to double check as I have recently become hooked on European Truck Simulator ( :\ ) and am sure I have contracted something.

Many Thanks

Tom Pender.

If you look in your C: drive, there should be a folder named EEK. Simply delete this folder, and then try downloading a fresh copy of Emsisoft Emergency Kit from one of the following links:

http://cdn.emsisoft.com/EmsisoftEmergencyKit.exe

http://dl.emsisoft.com/EmsisoftEmergencyKit.exe

it will not let you delete eek

Try restarting your computer, and then delete it.

If that doesn't work, then you'll need to open an elevated Command Prompt and run a command to unregister the Emsisoft Protection Platform driver. Let me know what version of Windows you're running, and I can tell you how to do this.

OK, here's how to do it:

  1. Right-click on the Start button.
  2. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the list.
  3. Once PowerShell is ready for you to type (it'll say "PS C:\Windows\System32>" followed by a blinking cursor), type in cmd and then press Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Now type in sc delete epp and then press Enter again.
  5. Restart your computer.

After doing that, it should be possible to delete or replace the eep.sys file.
