Hello,

While it is good to treat online privacy as a serious concern, it is also a very broad subject. It would help to know what exactly you're afraid of.

Then don't enter any data in any webform that doesn't have the https:// prefix, avoid any security products that use https intercepts, see also this article: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/us-cert-security-products-that-perform-https-interception-weaken-security/

Besides that, always be sure to use strong passwords, personally I'd recommend using a password manager like LastPass or KeePass to ensure you use unique and strong passwords that can't easily be hacked.

A VPN can protect your location and IP address (assuming that it does not collect personal data, which is not a given). If you use for example weak passwords or leave your personal information on shady websites however it is meaningless.

Without using any security software available on the internet, where everyone is a guest, it is always impossible to maintain online privacy. Selecting the software gives your accountability in many ways. Some can erase every traces on your system and give you an anonymous identity but there are also pitfalls like the advertisement compatible policies that generate vulnerabilities also relevant to the details you are doing with the information you try to access over the internet. I must say no one can commit 100% online privacy. We can only mitigate such occurrences by timely investing some money at the best solutions already available here. I suggest you should always use genuine security software. This will answer some of the best enhancement you need here. Understand there is always a simple surveillance that is always happening over your online activity for your safety according to the cyber laws of the land where you live. It is unavoidable as you need a gateway to access the internet. So be ethically more vigilant what you do here.

@abyskaria, please refrain from making meaningless posts. If you have to add something to an existing topic make sure your reply is relevant to the topic, otherwise your posts will be removed without further notice.
