Security Essentials 2011 Adware Removal Instructions

The Emsisoft malware research team has discoverd a new outbreak of the Security Essentials 2011 adware. Emsisoft Anti-Malware detects this malware as Adware.Win32.SecurityEssentials2011.

Security Essentials 2011 is a rogue security program. This is another variant of Security Essentials 2010 and Internet Security 2010 family. Once installed, it will scan the victim machine immediately without prior notice. This fake scanner application tries to trick you by displaying misleading scan results report, which says that your computer is infected with viruses or trojan, but you will not be able to delete them before you purchase. Be careful with this fraud application, because it will not protect your computer, but only will spend your money.

Create new files and directories:

  • %UserProfile%DesktopSecurity Essentials 2011.lnk
  • %UserProfile%Start MenuSecurity Essentials 2011.lnk

Create new registry entries:
