Minimalist
It seems as shortcut couldn't be created on desktop. Can you check if you got Emsisoft Anti-malware shortcut on your desktop after install?

GT500
It's possible that the installer wasn't able to find the "\Users\Public\Desktop" folder (or perhaps didn't have permission to write to it) when trying to save the Desktop icon, however it's difficult to know from just the error message. brihy1
I think the reason for that might be as it was as eam was installing i had windows defender folder protection on,i uninstalled eam, turned off windows defender folder protection and when i reinstalled eam the desktop icon was there?Like i said it wasnt a big issue as eam worked without problems. Umbra
6 hours ago, brihy1 said: I think the reason for that might be as it was as eam was installing i had windows defender folder protection on, Because this feature protect the desktop (which is a folder), so it prevents files to be created on it. For the shortcut to be created, Emsisoft AM must be added as an authorized application in the "allow an app through Controlled Folder Access" setting.
