a2service.exe crash

Recommended Posts

Any idea how to stop a2service.exe from crashing?  With the exception of the information level entry for the most recent crash only the FIVE errors that have occurred over the past THREE days are listed.

If the crashes are continuing to happen, then lets get a memory dump. Here's a link to instructions on how to configure automatic memory dumps when applications crash:
https://helpdesk.emsisoft.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/204/55/how-to-configure-automatic-crash-dumps-in-case-of-application-failures

Once a2service.exe has crashed, you should be able to find a memory dump for it in the following folder:

  • C:\Users\Public\CrashDumps

If you right-click on the memory dump for a2service.exe, then go to Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder then Windows will ZIP the file (you may need to copy it to your Desktop) so that it is easier to send to us.

You can send us the memory dump in a private message on the forums. If it's too large to attach to a message, then you may need to use a file sharing service.

Thank you for the repsonse, which I somehow overlooked until today. I apologize for the delay.

There have been no additional reported crashes.  The registry has just been updated to generate a full dump.  (Instruction said to use full dump if requested by a developer, Emsisioft is the developer, so...).

In the case of crashes, full dumps are generally more useful.

Note that if you don't experience any more crashes, then you can turn the option to save memory dumps back off. It's only necessary for debugging.
