JeremyNicoll 45 Report post Posted May 27, 2018 Win 8.1, 64bit... Running 8631 with Beta feed... but there's been several updates since beta 8668 was announced and my machine hasn't selected it. Should it have done so? Emsisoft Anti-Malware Full 2018.4.0.8631 beta [en-us] OS: Windows 8.1 (Version 6.3, Build 9600, 64-bit Edition)
stapp 121 Report post Posted May 27, 2018 Jeremy I know you probably will have done but I will ask anyway Have you tried selecting the stable build and rebooting. Then changing back to beta build option after the reboot and doing a manual update.?
JeremyNicoll 45 Report post Posted May 27, 2018 I haven't tried that because - as ever - someone might want to find out why. I'm not that bothered myself...
stapp 121 Report post Posted May 27, 2018 As a test I turned on my Win 7 machine which was still on 8631 (beta updates on) and it autoupdated to 8668 without any issues. That is why I asked if you had discounted the 'sticky button' possibility on your machine.
JeremyNicoll 45 Report post Posted May 27, 2018 There's no sign in the log that a version update has been attempted, yet the GUI says I'm on the beta feed (I've not touched that for ages). And the text I pasted into my question above, from the literal stuff in the 'send us an email' GUI function also says beta. I've just done another manual update, with debug logs enabled, and again the version didn't change. I'll PM them to Emsi in a while - I ned to go and do somethng else right now... Frank H 84 Report post Posted May 28, 2018 Issue seems to have resolved itself after a shutdown/boot it seems that some W8.1 related hickup caused the update to fail.
