Geee 0
If I save the encrypted files in a external hard drive, will the other files in the hard drive be infected also by the virus? Is it better that the encrypted files be saved separately? Also, I have used shadow explorer and have noted a recovery point. However, file exported are corrupted and displays blank worksheets since most are excel file. Is there a way to completely recover the corrupted files which were decrypted already. Can I also save the recovery point found by the shadow explorer. Mine is an online id. Thank you!

No. Your files aren't infected, they're encrypted. Just make sure the ransomware itself have been removed from your computer first, because it will continue to encrypt files if it's still running. Emsisoft Emergency Kit can detect and remove it.https://www.emsisoft.com/en/home/emergencykit/ 18 hours ago, Geee said: Is it better that the encrypted files be saved separately? You can save them wherever you want. My only recommendation is to keep them saved on a device that you don't keep connected to your computer, and it's not a bad idea to have two or more backup copies just in case anything happens to one of them. 18 hours ago, Geee said: Also, I have used shadow explorer and have noted a recovery point. Most ransomware will try to make sure that it is impossible to recover files, even from Volume Shadow Copies. 18 hours ago, Geee said: Can I also save the recovery point found by the shadow explorer. Recovery points are stored in a protect folder, and most tools don't have access to them. There may be tools out there that can access them and save copies of them like Shadow Explorer does, however I'm not familiar with those tools.

Fortunately your ID is an offline ID, however we don't yet have the private key for it. I recommend running the decrypter once every week or two so that you can see when we've been able to add the private key for your variant. OfficerJerry 0
My files are encrypted with ygkz extension online ID and third party decryption is impossible. So i plan on paying the $490 ransom as i DESPERATELY need the files. Ive tried every method for recovery but nothing worked. If they do give me the decryption key how can i prevent them from re-encrypting everything again, or will just running an anti malware and making backups work fine? The STOP/Djvu ransomware is relatively easy to remove, and most Anti-Virus software can detect it, so it shouldn't be a problem to remove it. You can use Emsisoft Emergency Kit (free for home/personal use) if you'd like:https://www.emsisoft.com/en/tools/emergencykit/ 13 hours ago, OfficerJerry said: My files are encrypted with ygkz extension online ID and third party decryption is impossible. If they sent you your private key, then we can add it to our database and then you would be able to use our decrypter.
