Hello!

A few days ago I installed EEK on my Windows 7 machine. After installation I updated the database and performed Threat Scan. The scan duration was 3 minutes. No threats were detected during the scan. Why scan was completed so fast? I didn't change any settings but disabled telemetry.

It's hard to say whether that's a normal speed or a very fast one, without knowing how many objects were checked.   And the speed of the hardware, whether you have SSDs, etc.   What sort of time did you expect it to take, and why?

Well, that shows 11277 objects (files, maybe other things like registry keys etc) were checked in 262 seconds, which means 43 per second.

Here, using Win 8.1 on a 7 year old laptop, (but it does have a core i7, 4-core 8 thread cpu, and two SSDs),  an EAM scan, not looking at mail files or archives (so similar choices to your EEK scan) typically scans about 1.5 million objects in about 71 minutes... which means about 350 items per second.

Had scans with someone-else's software previously taken 15 minutes?   Had those scans examined many more than 11277 files etc?

Проверка на угрозы is "Malware Scan" when the UI language is set to "English". This type of scan does not scan everything on your computer, but rather only files loaded into memory and files in your profile folder (Desktop, Downloads, Documents, etc).

Note that the scanner does check files with our Anti-Malware Network to supplement the scanner's results, so if you disable "telemetry" then you will also disable these features which may cause scans to complete faster than normal (actual perceived speed difference will vary based on computer specs, network quality, and Internet speed).

What type of scan can be used for full computer scan?

Our scanner technology will use every available CPU core to process scanning as many files at the same time as possible so that scans complete as quickly as possible.
