WSC Integration problems with latest version

Recommended Posts

Has anyone having these issues had a chance to try the current beta? We have made some changes to how Windows Security Center integration works.

https://blog.emsisoft.com/en/37266/emsisoft-anti-malware-2020-12-beta/

Here's how to install the beta:

  1. Open Emsisoft Anti-Malware.
  2. Click on the little gear icon on the left side of the Emsisoft Anti-Malware window (roughly in the middle).
  3. Click on Updates in the menu at the top.
  4. On the left, in the Updates section, look for Update feed.
  5. Click on the box to the right of where it says Update feed, and select Beta from the list.
  6. Right-click on the little Emsisoft icon in the lower-right corner of the screen (to the left of the clock).
  7. Select Update now from the list.

Not necessarily.  If no-one who has the WSC integration problem tests the Beta, then how are Emsisoft to know if the changes helped?

Trying a Beta is a bit like being a participant in a drug trial.

More than likely, but we'd like to know if it helps before we release the stable version.

Except the risk factor when trying one of our betas is significantly less than with trying experimental drugs. ;)

Hello!

It seems that the changes in the December version actually solved the integration issue!

In any case, within a day and several starts of the computer, the problem is no longer there!

Thanks!

You can find out what was the reason?

Hello!

That is, it is not related to the type of processors, updating versions of Windows?

I, not a specialist, do not quite understand about the report to the Security Center, but most importantly, apparently the problem has been resolved.

This is very nice, thanks again!

No, I haven't been told anything like that by QA.

That's understandable. I don't know if it's actually documented very well.

  • 3 months later...

I've been seeing something similar as well this week.  EAM would be running, showing in the tray with protection enabled but WSC would show it as OFF (with Defender as ON having re enabled itself).  It also was not consistent and I did not see any exclamation marks (though I expect because Defender had enabled itself).

Let's try getting a diagnostic log. The instructions and download are available at the following link:
