Emisoft product comparison

Recommended Posts

Where can we find a clear and detailed product comparison for: Emsisoft Anti-Malware, Mamutu, OA++ ?

For example, is Online Armor++ equal to Emsisoft Anti-Malware + Online Armor Premium Firewall Bundle?

I haven't managed to find this information on the site.

There's one here http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/compare/ for all Emsisoft's products with the exception of OA. OA's comparison chart is here http://www.online-armor.com/products.php but it only compares between OA editions. Since I gather you are already running OA ++ though you can likely compare what you have installed to what is listed at the first link I mentioned :) The software tutorials in the knowledgebase here http://www.emsisoft.com/en/kb/articles/ can also give you an visual idea of the features in EAM and Mamutu.

No, they are different. OA ++ uses the Emsisoft/Ikarus engine (that is used in Emsisoft Anti-Malware) to scan Unknown programs when they try to run (you can read more about how it works here http://www.online-armor.com/webhelp3/Antivirus.htm) The engine is integrated into OA's HIPS features.

catprincess, thank you. If I understand you correctly, OA++ is the the best and most complete emsisoft security solution?

Like most security software it really depends on what you're looking for. OA++ can be a good option for those with a computer that has limited resources or those that don't want a traditional AV solution. EAM has more options for configurating the AV scanner than OA++ does (including the option to scan files when they are created or modified) and it also has quarantine. If you like those things, then you might prefer EAM + OA Premium.

By the way, I love cats very much too :)

:)
