ShadowPuterDude
I would like to try an inplace upgrade, do you know of any repair installations for XP pro?Use the installation media that came with your computer, to do an inplace upgrade. How do I advertise my website in my signature? You don't. This is a commercial board and advertisement of that nature would be considered spam. There is a profile field for adding things like your website. Gib
Would the software have an option to choose repair and can you use any XP pro softare or would you havbe to use the very software that got you the os?
ShadowPuterDude
There are 4 types of Windows XP CD's, OEM, Retail, VLK, and Upgrade. You have to use the kind that was used when it was first installed. I won't explain how to do a "Repair Install", if you do not have the installation media in your possession. If someone upgraded your Operating System, without leaving the installation media with you; then this leads me to believe that your copy of Windows in not legally licensed. Gib
No I believe my os is legal, I'm just wondering if I get the cd would I be able to have the option to make a repair install without a doubt? What are the possibilities?
ShadowPuterDude
Yes, once you begin the installation you will be presented an option to Repair an existing installation.
