officialjunk 0
i am using windows xp. i installed online armor and set it to block all programs. when i restarted, windows boots and comes up with the log in screen, but i cannot log into my account. when i try to log in it says "loading personal settings" then immediately says "logging off." i'm pretty sure i shouldn't have set online armor to block all programs, as now i think it is blocking essential drivers from loading. safe mode behaves the same, and so does logging into the administrator account. so, my question is, what can i do? is there a way i can disable online armor from the recovery console? or am i out of luck and need to re-install windows? let me know if you need any further information and thanks in advance for any help you can provide. -o
stapp 152
Boot into safe mode and then uninstall OA. Reboot twice and then re-install OA doing a trust-all install provided you know your machine is virus free. Blocking everything from loading is bound to cause issues. Please provide details of operating system and security software.
officialjunk 0
thanks for the reply. i know you are busy, but i did mention that safe mode behaves the same way; i cannot actually log into windows using normal boot or safemode. i can access recovery console and that's it. so i'm asking if there is a way to uninstall OA using command prompt only, as that's the only thing i can actually do anything on my computer. i'm using avira free and windows xp pro sp3. thanks again, -o Boot into safe mode and then uninstall OA. luc 0
I believe you can use the following command. The double quotes are needed, unless you know the equivalent short folder names (8 characters): c:\"Program Files"\"Online Armor"\unins000.exe P.S. Using short file names, I think the above command would be: c:\progra~1\online~1\unins000.exe
Andrew F. 28
I think you'd need to reinstall Windows. Online Armor does not work in Safe Mode, so if you can't log into Safe Mode then uninstalling OA would not help you getting your back your system. Best regards, Andrey.
