Adam R.
Hi Does EEK use the same engine (version) like Emsisoft Anti-Malware? Regards, Adam
Jose_Lisbon
the same engine Engines; Ikarus and Emsisoft's own. The only differences are 1 EAM will work in real time while EEK is an on demand scanner 2 EAM updates automatically while EEK needs manual action. As far as I remember from the last time I tried EEK (which I turned to EAM trial just by going to Settings/License) all the modules and signatures are present in both versions. Fabian Wosar
Does EEK uses the same engine (version) like Emsisoft Anti-Malware? Currently they do. There may be times when this won't be the case though. When we release Emsisoft Anti-Malware 6.0 for example it may take a bit of time to port the new engine to the Emergency Kit as well. So there can be times where the version may differ.

I find this both interesting and disturbing. There are some ideas to make some features available in EAM Free as well. But it is way to early to talk about them in public. This is a quote from one of your posts at Wilders. Which is which? EEK with additional features, or EEK slimmed down... or what?
Fabian Wosar
Your questions make no sense at all. EEK and EAM Free are entirely different products. In addition there is nothing disturbing about the fact that EEK is updated slightly after EAM. It has been that way for pretty much forever. Last but not least you quoted my Wilders' statement in a context that makes no sense at all. I am clearly referring to EAM Free there so why you bring it up in a topic about EEK is beyond my comprehension.
Jose_Lisbon
. EEK and EAM Free are entirely different products. One of us is living in a different world http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/ Where is "EAM Free"? In addition there is nothing disturbing about the fact that EEK is updated slightly after EAM "slightly after"? Isn't EEK updated manually? What am I missing? Fabian Wosar
One of us is living in a different world http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/ Where is "EAM Free"? It's integrated in Emsisoft Anti-Malware and can be enabled by choosing the Freeware license. Because it is essentially a special work mode of Emsisoft Anti-Malware there is no dedicated download for it. Though the Emsisoft Anti-Malware download on the product page clearly states that the setup includes the Free and the full version.
