SumatraPDF and Online Armor (about keylogger)

Recommended Posts

I have Online Armor free, and I use the program SumatraPDF which is an opensource pdf viewer. The first time I opened it, Online Armor warned me with a pop-up that this program has a keylogger and I should make a choise if I would allow it or not. As I mentioned before, it is opensource and I downloaded it from softpedia. Softpedia guarantees that it is 100% free, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors. ( link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/PDF/SumatraPDF.shtml ). Is it safe to allow it ? Is this keylogger a part of the program that is needed to work properly and it does not affect my security? Or I should definitely block it?

SumatraPDF is considered safe, so there is no problem to allow the "keylogger".

i get a keylogger-warning for PdfXchange...

it´s not unusual to get a warning about "keyloggers", that happens regularly for me too.

as long as it´s about a program that you have installed yourself then there is no need to panic,

but if you get a warning about some program that you don´t anything about, then be careful...
