hornster 0
Hello. I'm using Online Armor Free and it stops internet traffic at random intervals. That is, all programs that need connection, like Mozilla Firefox, uTorrent, ICQ, Skype, etc. behave as if there's no connection. At the same time, ping command works fine and I can get echo replies from random servers. The moment I shutdown the firewall only - not any other protection (Web Shield, Program Guard, etc) - problem disappears. When I turn Firewall back on, it works normally, but problem appears again in a few hours or a day or so. I had logging enabled but in the logs no indication of anything blocked appears; everything works normal and just all of a sudden, all traffic stops. I had this problem with previous version of Online Armor but it didn't disappear after update. Disabling Web Guard doesn't help. Any help, please? OS WinXP SP3, latest updates Online Armor Free 5.1.1.1383 Avast! Antivirus 6.0.1289, added to exceptions in OA Previous Antivirus: Avira Antivir Free Peerblock 1.1 Previous firewalls: Comodo, later PCTools, both of them proved problematic so I moved to Online Armor Connected through wireless router, connection NOT trusted in Interfaces tab (should it be?) catprincess 19
Do you have your router set to Trusted in Firewall -> Computers?
hornster 0
It wasn't, I've just Trusted it. I'll wait and see whether the problem persists. Thanks, catprincess.
hornster 0
It didn't work. Problem persists but I think it might have something to do with blocking applications from accessing Internet - it looks like OA cuts all the traffic instead of only one app's. hackerman1 6
hornster: is there really no red-marked lines in your logs, saying fx. "blocked by ICMP" or "destination unreachable", when the connection is blocked ? i´m asking because i´m having similar problems with OA, and i get those errormessages. Andrew F. 28
Hello hornster, Do you have "Block traffic during system boot" feature enabled?
hackerman1 6
Hello hornster, Do you have "Block traffic during system boot" feature enabled? I have that enabled... is that the cause of those problems ?
hornster 0
Hello hornster, Do you have "Block traffic during system boot" feature enabled? I don't; it's grayed out (i.e. I can not interact on this option), but there is no tick under the grayout.
punisox 0
Have you blocked any ports from Windows processes from Firewall->Ports? Such as system or svchost. I had your problem long time ago, and if I remember correctly, allowing those processes fixed my issues. Not sure though.
