"Shutdown PC after scan" and "Check on Virustotal"

Recommended Posts

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Shutdown PC after scan would be useless at present as the program simply displays a list of detections and waits for your response.

Personally, I don't see the point of scanning a PC if you are not going to view what was scanned and deal with the results of the scan.

Did you have something specific in mind?

Hi zajic.v.pytli, and welcome to the forum.

1) I totally agree with H_D regarding the “Shutdown” feature in the main Package

If you want such feature you can use a-squared Command Line Scanner (CLS).

Set parameters for scanning only and redirect the output into the file.

Use shutdown command (or program) in your batch or script file.

This way you can leave PC unattended, say for scanning overnight and then review the result(s) in the morning after rebooting.

2) As for Virustotal, there are many other sites like that

I am not sure whether you meant some automation of the process or just setting the list of such sites...(?)

You cannot send all items from the detection list, not all of them are files.

In any case you have to manage sending files individually.

There are restrictions like file size; services could be unavailable; you have to save / review the results individually; etc.

But most importantly, we cannot rely on those results completely.

The set of result can be different within a few minutes (...or the next hour) when you'll resend the file since Data Bases will be updated.

At the end of the day the only reliable way to check if you are not sure would be submitting the code for analysis to the vendor that produced the flaggings.

... Did you have something specific in mind?

My regards
